Unpacking The Data: Post Brief

By 16:49 ,

Unpacking the data, and discussing the findings.
This morning we chose to come together as a team to discuss yesterday evening's reflection on the information we had obtained about Air Pollution, through talks from Mr. Martin Fitzgerald (Dublin City Council, Air Pollution monitoring), Mr Pat Kenny (Environmental Protection Agency) and David Prendergast (Intel).

We began the day by dividing into pairs and exchanging ideas, facts and insights, while our partner took down relevant notes on Post-Its. After these quick brain-storming sessions we again came back as one group to explore the findings, within context of main headings (Environment, Fuel, Public, Current Methods/Technics, Data, Stakeholders and Competitors).

Joseph arranging the post-its

We then entered a process of trying to make sense of all the findings. With discussion, going through each post-it contained in the different headings we then formed groups of similar ideas. On a separate white board we made notes of any key research areas that were emerging, main points that were highlight and early big ideas.

Entering the research phase of this project, we assessed that there were 3 Major areas of inquiry (Public understanding of Air Pollution, physical collection methods of gathering data and the Data itself) and we found 3 Minor ares of inquiry (Initiatives currently in other countries, stakeholders within the area of Air Pollution and future predictions, cities & products). Given these 6 areas, we broke into three groups and each picked a major & minor topic to research.

Let the research begin...........
